BlueGate Poets is a poetry group based in Swindon which is advancing the enjoyment and development of reading, writing and listening to poetry by encouraging local talent and voices at every level. The founders of the group are local poets, who collectively, have years of experience of organising and running poetry groups, workshops and participating in the Swindon Festival of Literature. |

Poetry Readings, Events & Workshops |

BlueGate Poets organise and deliver an annual programme of readings, workshops and poetry events in and around Swindon for members and non-members. The programme relies on membership fees and grant funding from Swindon ArtsWords. All funds raised go towards the organisation and provision of poetry readings and workshops. The schedule is rolled out over the year and members are informed of events by quarterly bulletins. |

As a member of BlueGate Poets you will benefit from opportunities to develop your poetry writing, enjoy readings and enhance your critical skills; these are important aspects of the poetry craft. You will be able to listen to and be taught by, poets who will give you the time and space to: read, write, listen and develop your own voice.
You can have the benefit of working with another member poet (a poetry buddy) for critical feed-back and discussion. Meeting, working and socialising with other poets can be a refreshing change from the lonely life of writing. |
